I was responding to an article on the Huffington Post today. It was written by Robert Reich. After reading the story I decided to comment on a couple of ideas thrown out by Mr. Reich which were less than factual and also were to slant his article in a totally biased way.
I understand this is how all political hacks write their stories, but I figured it was only right I should be able to call him on these issues.
So I responded only to have the Huffington Post not publish my comment. I was so shocked the first time I amended it a little and tried to comment again. Once again it was not published.
The comment was in no way in bad taste or abusive and in fact it was less antagonistic than the way Mr. Reich attacked the right in his article.
So much for the idea of open ideas.
So I have reposted it here for anyone to see and hopefully it will help people to better understand how a left wing news magazine works in the US today. Kind of like Pravda.
Here is the reply
Robert Reich is a total genius in his own mind. In the end he is just a political hack and he bends the issues to his storyline. If he would just stick to the facts and reality maybe we could get somewhere. But like most political hacks he cannot.
A few examples:
"We got here because Wall Street went bonkers, the housing bubble burst, and the middle class couldn't continue to spend because their health-care bills were soaring and their pay was stagnating".- Coming from the Middle class I can tell you it was not health care cost, but instead it was credit card spending.
"The Clinton years had the best sustained economy in American history". - which ended with the bursting of the dot com bubble and loss of millions to the middle class, and a recession.
"If we let the deficit hawks and government haters dominate this debate, as they have, the Big Dipper will continue for years. The Great Depression lasted twelve".- this is fact, but the major reason for the end was WWII not any of the programs set up by Roosevelt. The funny thing is the left always talks of how these programs ended the depression but it lasted for 12 years! How can people believe the programs worked when even they site facts of time. To make any new FDR type programs work we need a WWII sized war to build production and kill large amounts of young men.
